CAT SAFETY COLLARS

Dear Ms. Meow:

Like many felines, I enjoy "hanging out" in my neighborhood. I always return home for supper and spend the evening with my family. I'm neutered, have all my shots and my appearance makes it obvious that I'm a beloved pet. I don't need a collar. I might catch it on a branch or something and hurt myself.

Mister Bare

Dear Bare:

Because they love you, your family should insist that you wear a safety collar and ID tag. If it fits properly the chances of you getting "caught" on something are unlikely, but its elastic insert would allow you to slip out unharmed. The collar and tag will insure that no one mistakes you for a stray. Most importantly, if you should wander too far from home or become sick or injured while you are out you can be identified immediately and you family summoned to rescue you. Even cats who never leave the house should wear a collar and tag, just in case.
